The TUS810K02 Select I/O Modular Termination Unit (MTU), for Intrinsically safe (IS) applications, hosts Generic I/O modules (GIOs) and up to 16 Signal Conditioning Modules (SCMs) which completes a single I/O unit. When using the TUS810K02 for IS applications, the Power Injection Terminal Blocks are removed and replaced with empty slot protectors.
There is self-learning coding on the FTBs that gets set upon the initial insertion of an SCM so that if an SCM is replaced, only the same type of SCM can be inserted. To insert another type of SCM, the coding can be reset manually. The MTU also has a coding for the GIO, so that it can only be replaced with the same type of GIO.
TUS810K02 includes the DIN-rail mountable TUS810 MTU, 16 pcs FTB890 IS Field Termination Blocks, 2 pcs of TL820 Empty Slot Protectors and 1 pcs of TUC810 Terminal Cover.

The AI820 Analog Input Module has 4 differential, bipolar current/voltage inputs. Each channel can be either a voltage or current input. The current inputs can withstand an accidental maximum normal mode 30 V d.c. connection. To protect the current input circuit against dangerous input levels, that is, by accidentally connecting a 24 V source, the resistor rating of the 250W current sense resistors is about 5 Watts. This is intended only to temporarily protect one channel at a time.
The module distributes the external transmitter supply to each channel. This adds a simple connection (with extended MTUs) to distribute the supply to external 2 wire transmitters. There is no current limiting on the transmitter power terminals.
