CI862 Classic

TRIO, interface integrates TRIO/Genius I/O as a native AC 800M I/O. The TRIO interface to the AC 800M is via the CI862 CEX module. This module supports direct connection for one TRIO LAN and provides a port for the Hand Held Monitor.
A single CI862 can connect 30 blocks to a single LAN. The AC 800M can have up to four single lans or four redundant lans. The maximum I/O with TRIO in an AC 800M is 1000 IO points. The CI862 can be set redundant. The CI862 is the communication interface to the TRIO blocks (remote I/O) and manages the channel data for the AC 800M controller.

The CI868A can be used to connect an AC 800M controller to external Ethernet devices using IEC 61850 – Edition 2 standard. Since this is a standard for Substation Automation, this allows the combination of Process Automation and Electrical Control in the same controller.
The TP868 Baseplate has two RJ45 Ethernet connectors, where CH1 connector can use 10Mbps or 100Mbps (Mega bits/sec.).The baseplate has a code lock that prevents the installation of an incorrect type of unit onto the TP867 Baseplate.

MODBUS TCP is an open industry standard widely spread due to its ease of use. It is a request response protocol and offers services specified by function codes.
MODBUS TCP combines the MODBUS RTU with standard Ethernet and universal networking standard TCP. It is an application-layer messaging protocol, positioned at level 7 of the OSI model. The CI867A/TP867 is used for connection between an AC 800M controller and external Ethernet devices using Modbus TCP protocol.

CI854B

PROFIBUS DP is a high speed multipurpose bus protocol (up to 12Mbit/s) for interconnecting field devices, like remote I/O, drives, low voltage electrical equipment, and controllers. PROFIBUS DP can be connected to the AC 800M via the CI854B communication interface. The CI854B includes two PROFIBUS ports to realize line redundancy and it also supports PROFIBUS master redundancy.
Master redundancy is supported in PROFIBUS-DP communication by using two CI854B communication interface modules. The master redundancy can be combined with CPU redundancy and CEXbus redundancy (BC810). The modules are mounted on a DIN rail and interface directly with the S800 I/O system, and other I/O systems as well, including all PROFIBUS DP/DP-V1 and FOUNDATION Fieldbus proficient systems.
The PROFIBUS DP must be terminated at the two outermost nodes. This is usually done by using connectors with built-in termination. To guarantee a correct working termination the connector has to be plugged and power supplied.

CI860

If there is a need to have access to FF process variables in the AC 800M controller, connectivity between the HSE subnet and the controller is established with the CI860 – the Communication Interface FOUNDATION Fieldbus HSE.
Then FOUNDATION Fieldbus process data on HSE can be accessed from the IEC 61131 applications in the AC 800M controllers. For this purpose, the CI860 module maps the value and status parts of the FF signals to the IEC 61131 application and vice versa.
The CI860 is powered by the processor unit, via the CEX-Bus, and therefore does not require any additional external power source.

CI854A Classic

PROFIBUS DP is a high speed multipurpose bus protocol (up to 12Mbit/s) for interconnecting field devices, like remote I/O, drives, low voltage electrical equipment, and controllers. PROFIBUS DP can be connected to the AC 800M via the CI854A communication interface. The Classic CI854A includes two PROFIBUS ports to realize line redundancy and it also supports PROFIBUS master redundancy. The CI854B is the new PROFIBUS-DP master that replaces CI854A in new installations.
Master redundancy is supported in PROFIBUS-DP communication by using two CI854A communication interface modules. The master redundancy can be combined with CPU redundancy and CEXbus redundancy (BC810). The modules are mounted on a DIN rail and interface directly with the S800 I/O system, and other I/O systems as well, including all PROFIBUS DP/DP-V1 and FOUNDATION Fieldbus proficient systems.
The PROFIBUS DP must be terminated at the two outermost nodes. This is usually done by using connectors with built-in termination. To guarantee a correct working termination the connector has to be plugged and power supplied.

CI856

S100 I/O communication is realized in AC 800M by communication interface CI856, which is connected to the CEX-Bus through a base plate. The baseplate, TP856, houses a ribbon connector connecting to bus extender boards in S100 I/O racks and provides a simple DIN-rail mounting. Up to five S100 I/O racks can be connected to one CI856 where each I/O rack can hold up to 20 I/O boards.
The CI856 is powered by the processor unit, via the CEX-Bus, and therefore does not require any additional external power source.

CI855

The MasterBus 300 (MB300) communication protocol used in communication between controllers, operator stations in installations based on Advant OCS with Master software is also implemented in the System 800xA controller AC 800M. MB 300 communication is realized in AC 800M by communication interface CI855, which is connected to the CEX-Bus through a baseplate.
The baseplate, TP853, houses RJ45 connectors for two Ethernet ports, for network redundancy and provides a simple DIN-rail mounting.

CI853 RS-232 module protocols:
COMLI can be used on the build in COM3 port and optionally on the CI853 ports. The cable length can be extended considerably (to several km) using a fiber optic converter. RS-232C is the standard communication interface used for serial communication with COMLI. The CI853 supports Hot Swap. COMLI is an ABB protocol for data transmission between controllers. It is designed for asynchronous master/slave communication in half-duplex. COMLI protocol supports dial-up modem controlled from the application. CI853 supports both Master/Slave mode in COMLI.
MODBUS RTU is a standard protocol widely spread because of its ease of use and reliability. Modbus RTU is an open, serial (RS-232 or RS-485) protocol derived from the Master/Slave architecture exchanging information in half duplex mode. The Modbus functionality can be configured both on the COM ports of AC 800M and CI853. Module Redundancy is not available in MODBUS RTU. CI853 supports only Master mode in MODBUS RTU.
